How to fire a property manager who is difficult to work with.

One of my clients is trying to release a property manager who has been very difficult to work with. I will not discuss the details of what he has done wrong to my client. My client emailed the property manager that he does not want to renew the lease

The property manager replied saying that according to the contract, the management agreement will remain in full force if the current tenant remains in the property.

This is wording used in the stipulation of the contract.

"Once property is leased, this agreement is automatically extended until the tenant procured by "XXXX" Brokers, LLC moves out"

What is the best route to terminate this property manager and keep the current tenant who wants to renew. Can my client contact the tenant directly to start paying him rent directly, rather than go through a property management company? Should we proceed with a real estate attorney for this matter?

Thanks.
