Sewer Pipe broken

Jesus Santoyo
Posted

Hey guys,

Recently purchased a 3/1 sfh in Warren, MI it appraised great home inspection was good. However, fast forward a few weeks and now I am having sewer issues. I had a plumber do a full hydro jetting clean up and he advised me that there may be a cracked on the sewer pipe a few feet away from the city drain pipe. I got a couple of quotes from they are saying 10-15k work without including the cost of repairing the concrete of the sidewalk. Have any of you been though this.?? Any advice.. It's heartbreaking. I only had the property a few weeks and this just happened.. Appreciate you all taking the time to read and share any notes..

"May be a crack"? I would need a  lot more confirmation before I go digging into the street. Did you do a camera scope and see the crack with your own eyes? Have it Scoped it if you haven't. Should be about $200.
I take sewer guys with a grain of salt. 1/2 are outright crooks, 1/2 are decent and respectable.
After you confirm with a scope, get multiple bids. Find a family company that's been around a long time with good reviews.
You can either sleeve it by(cheapest), inject expoxy, or replace it(best).
Always, before any purchase, scope the sewer line. Anything can be fixed, but that's the most costly.
