Snow and ice removal

hey BP forum!!! I am wondering what the property managers out there do in the winter wonderland we are entering into. We own a 4plex and are experiencing some icy conditions, do you all provide ice melt? At what snowfall level do you provide snow removal services? I'd hate for someone to slip and fall, but also know there is no way we could always be there immediately if sidewalks freeze...any input is appreciated!!

We independently manage our properties but hire a snow removal company. Here in Chicago we have laws as far as how much time after the snow stops falling that you have to remove it. Last year we payed per occurrence and were charged $65 for shoveling and salting, and when snow fall was more then 1 inch they would service the property. This year is supposed to be a heavy snowfall so we paid $1,120 for unlimited
