Anybody play this game called "Tenants" on Steam?

Right, seriously, there's a game on Steam called "Tenants" which, I suppose, is a landlord business simulator.

On sale now for $17.49.

Quick blurb (not trying to advertise for them, honest):Become a landlord and deal with problematic tenantsas you build your rental property empire. Decide howto react to annoyed neighbors or police interventions.Will you design your apartment for a group of gamerfriends or an aspiring musician looking for a newhome?So I'm curious whether anyone plays it, or whether the consensus is the Real World provides Challenges enough? And if you happen to play it, what do you think of it?

This could be a good idea if executed properly. Most people buy property and then do nothing to educate themselves on how to properly manage. It's like Whack-A-Mole: don't think about bad things happening until they do, then panic and run to BiggerPockets forum for advice. LOL!

Investing in real estate would be a lot better experience if people educated themselves on how to properly manage from the very beginning. A simulator/game could really help with that.

We have supply chain issues in our country, not he least of which is a shortage of truck drivers.

Flipping through tiktok (hold your laughter until the end, please), guess what I saw on tiktok "live," with THOUSANDS of viewers?

A tiktok live of a dude playing a long haul truck driver simulation. But it wasn't just the video game, he had 3 or 4 monitors, 180 degree view, a steering wheel, pedals, an 18 gear shifter, you name it. He probably spent more on his setup than it would take to get the actual license. Like... dude.... GO DRIVE A TRUCK IRL. Get paid for it!

The folks sitting there watching this guy drive a truck through fake rush hour traffic (oh no, this wasn't an "action" game, it was a "simulation," very realistic) for hours on end? I don't even know what to say, except to hope that it's all kids who do not yet know the pain of rush hour commute, and think all things "grown up" are cool grown up things.

I actually used to have a game modeled after Monopoly that was called Slumlord😂 same type of antics with buying property, maintenance cards, dealing with code enforcement etc… Bought it at a real estate convention

I’ve actually played The Tenants a bit, and it’s surprisingly entertaining! It’s a mix of strategy, management, and a little bit of chaos, especially when dealing with unruly tenants or trying to balance your budget while upgrading properties. The design aspect is fun too—you can get really creative with how you furnish spaces depending on your tenants' preferences.

That said, it’s definitely more on the lighthearted and quirky side, so don’t expect hardcore realism. It’s more about the fun scenarios and balancing the landlord life without too much stress (unlike the real world). If you’re into management sims, it’s worth a shot, especially on sale.On a side note, if you’re into trading or selling in other games, platforms like here can be great for managing in-game items or cashing out from games like CS2.

I don't know if any of you have ever played that game from the "Rich Dad" author, Kiyosaki is it? About getting out of the Rat Race.My family and I played it a few times, and what can be said in its favor is that there are a lot of opportunities to buy rental properties under different cash flow conditions. It's good practice in making the calculations needed to decide whether or not to pull the trigger on a potential deal.You soon learn that starting off as a Doctor is less advantageous than starting off as a Janitor, because the game presets your income and expenses based on the job title. So the Janitor usually wins, defined as making more passive income than your expenses, because his expenses start off so low and stay low.Unfortunately, after you play it a while, you get to know what to look for, like when that one stock becomes available for, I forget, $3 or something ... BUY ALL YOU CAN AFFORD! BORROW MONEY, BUY MORE! Because, based on prior experience, we all know that eventually the card will come up where that stock is now selling for $50, and you'll make a KILLING. I thought any number of times of pulling those cards out of the deck, it's too unrealistic and too much luck for the person who draws it. In the real world, most companies with stock prices that drop down that low are more likely to go completely bust, and whatever you invested will just be lost.Regardless of the game's weaknesses, I think overall it was valuable learning experience.
