Wish to invest in my 1st multifamily, and goals are:

1) to use my va loan as a veteran to purchase my 1st multifamily rental property

2) Plan to buy 1st property for rental income and equity appreciation, then purchase 2nd property a year later

3) To figure out if I should start with  properties in not so good areas of Pennsylvania like allentown , Connecticut like bridgeport, hartford, waterbury and if I do what should i be looking into before I buy anything

4) Minimize and avoid top mistakes newbie multifamily investors make

5) make list of questions I should be asking before purchasing anything

Make sure you do your research and ask questions when needed. Don’t be afraid of taking risks, but also make sure you understand the risks involved in any investment decision. Investing in real estate isn't a get-rich-quick scheme; it takes hard work and dedication to see success. Keep up the great work and have fun!

Happy investing!
