Legal info about a tenant

Steve Tse
Posted

Hi BP Community,

I recently hired a new property management company who found a tenant(s). My question is what legally, am I allowed to ask the property management about the new tenant ? The property is located in Texas.

The specific info I am interested in is:

Tenant credit score, previous lease history, tenant income, background check results and possibly the size of the family.

Thanks

    Hi Steve,

I don't work with PM, but since you did hire one, you have every right to ask them the questions. Actually, they should be reaching out to you and giving you the details as well of the new tenant. You want to make sure that your business is running smoothly and that you can trust the PM at all times. You need to have open communication with the PM.
