Changing the Locks for a Rental Property

Tomeka Wray
Posted

On average, how much do you pay to replace the locks on 2 doors (front and back doors with deadlocks and a storage closet) in the Maryland area. I received a quote for $500 from a locksmith and I think its a little expensive. What are your thoughts. Thanks.

PS...This is my first rehab/rental so I am trying to do everything correctly.

Buy kwikset smart key locks you can change the key yourself or have someone do it in under a minute.  They have a little tool that comes with them to change the lock and the cost themselves isn’t anything significantly more expensive than a regular one. You can easily do it yourself if local or a handyman should be able to do it cheap.
