Tenant Power turned off - names on lease
The energy company turned off the power to the house. There are 2 names on the lease. When the tenant went to the energy company to turn the power back on, they said they can't bc one of the tenants owes them $1200 from 2016-2017. They moved in my house in 2019. I don't think this came up in my credit check. They will not turn the power back on until that is paid. Tenant is asking if I can take that name off (the one that owes) and put just one name on the new lease. I'm hesitant to do this for a few reasons - one being integrity. They are currently staying in a hotel. Any of you have experience, knowledge, advice?
