We have a 3bd/2.5ba home in a nice area of town, rent averages $1400-1800/mo. How much would you charge for security deposit? And how do you determine the amount? Thanks!

I would so some research on your local landlords. What are you competing with?

In Atlanta 1 month deposit is customary. But when you come to the SF Bay area they want 1 month deposit and last month's rent, in addition to first month's rent. And then there's pet deposit and pet rent, if have a pet.

It's supply and demand
