Gardens and Chicken Problem

Edward Gonzalez
Posted

Hi BP I'm in need of some feedback on a predicament I'm in. I have two tenants that a couple of years ago they asked if they can have a garden outside. Being the nice guy I said sure, since I also love to garden. Also, I have a no pet policy but I was asked about a few baby chicks being allowed outdoors. They were so cute and looked harmless I said sure. Now the yard is ruined!!! The one tenant can't grow a thing but has made a huge mess and the other tenant is really trying to grow his yearly food supply taking up every little space of a once beautiful lawn and ripping it up to plant! Not only that but the two baby chicks have turned into almost twenty chickens and a duck including shelters and fencing that was never talked about. I have called them both to make them aware that they need to remove all of the gardening and the animals from the property. I'm sending them a 30 day Notice to Comply. But if they do not remove the Items in thirty days, can I charge them a fee for not Complying? Say $100 and $10  a day untill the yard is clear?

What would some of you do? I did allow it to some degree but that was a mistake that needs to be corrected...Help!

Sorry. You blew it Eddie. No vegetable gardens! AND, never give a kid a bulldozer!!

Need to raise something? In pots, away from the house or deck.

Take them with you when you go.
