Tenants rights for the landlord selling the property I live in.

Jacqueline Clark

My landlord just informed me they are selling the duplex I live in. My lease is up in December. I am wondering if they can break my lease if they sell the property. Also, The landlord is scheduling viewings without even asking me if it's convenient for me. Is there a law where they have to ask me first? I was also bothered that they took photos of all my property and listed them online without asking me. Does anyone know what my rights are?

Thank you

Your lease has to be honored unless they offer you money to leave and you voluntarily leave.

Your state will say how many hours notice they have to give. They don’t need your approval, just to tell you. Just google landlord notice to enter rental property <your state>.
