getting my Security deposit back

I had to pay a double deposit the new landlord said property would be ready by 1-15 of may then he said the 20 now he is saying the 24. i gave my notice to apartment complex ad have to be out by the 20th. landlord he is keeping half the deposit for damages if i back out of leasing the unit. but he keeps giving us different move in dates. HELP

The Landlord is in violation of the agreement, even if it is verbal. They told you it would be ready by the 15th and then failed to perform.

Contact Legal Aid and they can help you out.
