Property Management vs Owner

Aaron Argantes

Hello,

So, I recently had an issue with the property management company sending us a notice to vacate. I found the homeowners contact info and contacted him directly to discuss and we worked out a deal to continue renting for the foreseeable future. The PM company is now saying "No contact should be made with the owner of the property directly due to privacy act. This is why the clients pay us for our services."

This sounds like complete BS to me and probably meant they were trying to get us out to charge more rent or something, but what do I know. Any input from anyone onto if this is accurate?
