Moved into a rental unit and it’s nasty.. options??

So I moved into a rental home and it’s disgusting. There were items left by the previous tenants, food splattered in the kitchen, the dishwasher doesn’t sit in the area and falls over when the door is pulled, there’s even a panel missing on a kitchen cabinet.. they left freakin trulys in the freezer! 😂 Does the rental company have to fix this? I can’t believe they just left trash and previous residents items for me to dispose of?? They also have in the lease that after move out they have the residence professionally cleaned, so why did I not get a professionally cleaned home too?!

Well, that's a mess but it's a far cry from "nasty". It would take five minutes to haul the abandoned items to the dumpster or curb. It would take five minutes to call the Property Manager and explain the maintenance issues and the items left behind. Kindly demand they take care of it ASAP and give them the chance to make it right. If they don't, you have to decide if you want to go through the trouble of finding a new rental, pushing for compensation, or just chalking it up as a minor inconvenience and move on.
