Utilities turned on to wrong address, how to assist?

Kinda of a newbie here, only my 3rd rental. My tenants moved in over Easter weekend so I left utilities in my name until Tuesday. I confirmed all had been transfered, which they acknowledged, then proceeded to turn off my accounts.

Lo and behold, the electric company apparently had mistyped the address and now my renters are in the dark. While the renters did everything right, the electric company's typo sent the powder elsewhere while my account was still powering the home. While it is only going to be for one night until the correct meter can be turned on, I can't help but feel bad for them. It is an elderly couple with a fridge full of food, a c-pap and an electric water heater. Cold showers tonight!

Am I under any type of obligation to provide them with a hotel night, or other accomodation like a generator or anything since they will be without power for a day? It was not their fault, nor mine, (as far as I can tell) but can anything be done here? How would something like this be prevented in the future?
