NYS Security Deposit Law

I'm a new landlord about to put my first apartment up for rent. I know in NYS you can only charge 2 out of the three when it comes to 1st month rent, security deposit and last month rent. Would it be legal to charge last month and security deposit and on move in date, charge a prorated amount for the first month?
