Separating Water Meter - Rochester

I have two duplexes in Rochester NY each with only a single meter for water. Combined it's about 225/3 months I have to take in the costs for, I was wondering if anyone has been successful (or if its possible) in splitting the water meters in Rochester?

I explored this a little bit ago but I couldn't seem to get anywhere with the city agencies :/

I am not in your town. I have split up the water for a duplex recently. I needed to hire a plumber to finish up the split. The plumber with then coordinate with the water utility providor to come to shut off the water and bring the 2nd meter. The plumber will then finalize the split. I would check with a local plumber as they should have had experience with this or at least with coordinating a job with the utility or city utility.

It was a smart move for me to do split utilities and adjust rent for the tenants. This allowed for a more stable income with the variation in bills being put in the tenants hands. They can also watch their usage to lower bills as well.
