aquiring tenant first, then property
Interesting scnario...
Ok, I have a tenant (couple) who occupy a 1 bedroom in one of my multi families.. She will be having a baby soon and will need a bigger place, and due to the baby they want a single family for fear of baby making too much noise and disturbing other tenants..
I hate to lose these tenants as they are really "all star tenants" that don't come along very often. When I say all star I really mean it. He works for a big painting outfit and has painted the apartment beautifully, pressure washed the house and takes very good care of it.Takes care of most minor issues on his own. They are very easy going never any issues, you know the type of tenants that don't come along too often and you hate to lose.... Both very hard working very nice people
So, unfortunately I don't have anything currently that will suit their needs. And while I was not planning on purchasing another property right now due to some other circumstances, I have really begun t o think about looking for a single family that will suit them and aquiring it and having them continue to rent from me..
IS this crazy thing to do? Has anyone ever thought like this before? While of course they would't be living there forever but based on conversations I have had they do want to settle down long term in this town in a single family home.
Of course I am not gonna buy something that doesn't make financial sense to me Etc.
But just curious have any other landlords done anything similar or along these lines to avoid losing a great long term tenant??
thoughts and opinions are appreciated.
Best regards,
Chris
