Still need 30 day notice even though lease ends?

Lease is ending March 16. Do they need to give 30 days notice that they are not renewing? Or does the end of the lease just signify that they'll leave unless otherwise stated?

@Amanda Thompson it's best to give them a written notice so there's no misunderstanding. Your perspective, the lease, the law, and the Tenant's understanding may all be different.
