Security alarm in rental
We are buying a rental that already has a working security alarm system. What do you usually do in this case?
I figure we would just let the contract expire and let the tenants know they can put the alarm system in their own name if they like but that we are not responsible for it. If they are not interested in paying for an alarm system, we would keep all the hardware where it's at just make sure they understand it is not activated.
What are your thoughts and standard procedure when you encounter this?
