turning an SFH into a duplex pros and cons

Hello everyone! 

I'm thinking about turning an SFH into a duplex, there is a separate entrance and it seems easy to do it. do you recommend it? the numbers make sense it will generate an extra 800 a month but I'm wondering what are the pros and cons and other legal risks if there are any. would love to hear about your experience.
