Security Cameras/ Alarm System

Has anyone had success with portable security cameras that operate on data and not wifi? We have a couple properties being rehabbed and vandalism and squatting are on the rise in our area. Signing up for Wifi service, in order to operate cameras, for each property on a 1-2 month basis isn't feasible. Im looking for camera recommendations  that operate on data so that we are alerted to activity on the properties.
