Colorado - Marshall fire indoor air quality testing?
This is related to the recent Marshall fire in the Louisville/Superior region. My rental house was not directly affected by the fire and is about 1.5 miles away from the burn areas. The house does not have any soot deposit nor does it smell smoke inside/outside. Tenants want me to do an inspection to assess any carcinogenic particles in the property related to the fire. Am I legally required to comply with this request? The Colorado State document on this fire does not specifically mention any indoor air quality inspections. Does anyone know a good company to do this work? Thanks

Nonsense. If they feel the home is unsafe, give them the opportunity to break the lease and move out. Do they test their kid's clothing after a week at camp? If there's not even enough smoke to create an odor, there's no way it's carcinogenic and killing a renter. I think they're just looking for an excuse to leave, so I would tell them to pay a one-month termination fee and get out.
