Tenant about to move out, owes us ~6k, don't even have her ID.

Tl;dr, I have recently acquired a mess and I have to fix it. I have a tenant about to move out to god knows where tomorrow and owes us ~6k. Can I take a flight there and get her ID? What if she says no? Would the cops make her? Excuse my naivety, but I've never sued anyone, and I need to make sure I can recoup the money owed.
