3-Day Pay or Vacate timing?

I just need help confirming the logistics:

Jan. 1st: rent is due

Jan. 5th: last day of grace period

Jan. 6th: 3-day pay or vacate notice serviced and mailed

??Jan. 7, 8, 9: 3-day period

?? Jan. 10th: eviction filed

Does the 3 days include the 6th? I am also trying to figure out late fees, which is $50 on the 6th and $10 each additional day. Should I include these (like a payment schedule) on the notice?
