Being threatened to put Mechanic's Lien on Property in NC
I had a service call booked with a wildlife removal company and I failed to notify them to cancel the call 24 hrs in advance. I called them today to cancel the call and they're asking for a full service fee (75$). I requested them that I will pay half the amount but they're threatening to put a Mechanic's Lien on Property for non-payment. I am just trying to understand if that's something they can/should be doing. What happens if they end up putting a Lien on Property?

You hired a professional to do a job. You didnt cancel in the appropriate amount of time. You cost that business money. You should pay the cancelation fee like you should for any professional who sets aside their time for you that you cancel on.
