A Question About My FHA Loan

Nathan Myers
Posted

I have a quick question. I bought a triplex with an FHA loan on January 14, 2021. I legally owned it then but did not live in it until the end of February because the previous tenant had 60 days to move out. I am now moving out of state to attend seminary at the end of the month. My question is can I have a tenant sign a lease for my unit on January 1, 2022 or after January 14, 2022? I shouldn't have to wait until March because I will have owned it for a whole year come January 14. Thoughts?
