Where is the Eviction Tsunami?

For months I read in the news how lifting the eviction moratoriums would cause massive evictions and a dangerous rise in COVID. Politicians claimed millions of people were going to be evicted. It has been a couple months since restrictions were lifted in most cities. I rarely see eviction related headlines. I searched the news today I found a couple articles mentioning evictions in some cities actually being lower than pre-pandemic levels.

Many seasoned landlords suspected the "mass eviction" narrative was false, just based on delinquent rent statistics. The other factor is the massive amount of rent assistance being handed out. It is just logical that there shouldn't be mass evictions.

Please share your local experience.

The best way to control people and pass controversial laws is to scare people into giving up their rights.  There are plenty of jobs and plenty of rental assistance out there where you shouldn't be evicted unless the issue is you as a tenant vs. a financial one.
