Property inspection report
Hello everyone! I wanted to see what the next step is after you receive the full inspection report on a property while in escrow. Will you present this report to a general contractor to look over it and give you a quote of the important things that need fixing? I'd like to get an estimate to be able to negotiate with the seller. Thank you!

Keep in mind that an inspection is meant to reveal unknown defects that are not reflected in the price. If the house visibly has a 30 year old furnace, the negotiated price should already reflect that. I mention this because some buyers believe anything on an inspection report should be a cost deduction from offer price. You are not buying a new house. Of course negotiate what you can. Ask for concession greater than you expect to get. I am just saying go into it with the right expectations.
