There's NO reason to get your RE license if you're not selling RE
Could be a contentious position BUT, there is NO reason to get your real estate license or be a realtor if you're not going to be selling real estate! Prove me wrong if you disagree!
There are just too many other avenues and resources to justify spending money on getting your RE license if you're not going to be selling or buying properties FOR OTHER PEOPLE and making money! Please again shed some light on why someone should get their license otherwise?? I'll wait.
Let me guess using the MLS? There are other ways to access this without getting your license.
Knowledge of RE in studying to get your license? There is all of the info available for free, or less expensive books etc to learn ALL of the same info in EVERY state!
Being able to buy and sell, manage your own properties? You can already do this legally without a license so AGAIN, unless you are wanting to do it for OTHER people and are making money from it there is NO reason to get a RE license.
Say it LOUDER for those those in the BACK. There is NO REASON TO GET YOUR RE LICENSE IF YOU'RE NOT SELLING REAL ESTATE! Don't waste your money resources, time resources as both are more valuable spent elsewhere!

@Alexander Coleman I agree with you. When working for yourself, buying BRRRRs, Flips, STRs, Etc, there is no advantage that I am aware of. Even when I have had access to the MLS, I still used other programs with better search tools. layout, Etc as @Russell Brazil said....
I have had a RE license in addition to Contr's. license and IMHO the RE license should be left to professionals. Same with a Contr's. license. It gives you very little advantage in doing Investor Real Estate...maybe a little credibility, but that's it.
We get this question every week. "Should I get a RE license....should I get a Contr. License?" Answer is no.
