Solar Panels on Monster Houses?

I'm reading B. Turner's book on multifamily investing and I'm curious if anyone puts solar panels on "monster houses".  Because it seems so difficult to split electricity to individual units, would a tax incentivized addition offset that expense?  It seems that they would add value when it comes to selling to the next investor.  Thoughts?
