IRS sec 179 ford f150
I'm in a bit of a bind right now as I need to order a new truck for my business (renovating and rehabbing houses). My choices are a ford f150 super cab with 6.5' bed or ford f150 super crew and 5.5' bed. Both vehicles have gross weight over 6,000lbs. From what I understand about IRS sec 179, I could take the full depreciation of the 6.5' bed but only $25,000 plus 60% bonus depreciation of the 5.5' bed. Is this correct? The vehicle will be for business use 90% of the time but I could also buy a junk car to have as a '2nd vehicle' and claim the new truck as 100% business. Looking to get the biggest deduction possible and would prefer the super crew cab and 5.5' bed. Looking for any advice on which to order-and need to order one of the truck in next couple days since the build process is about 3 months out with the chip shortages. Thanks for your time,
