Credit Increase, New Job

I am a recent college graduate and I got a new job secured with a higher salary then when I applied for the card. My line of credit is very low ~1000, should I ask for an increase? My credit score is 730 and I'm confused what to do. So in short:

1. Will this "hard" credit inquire hurt my score?
2. At what credit score would a mortgage lender give me a better rate?
