Credit repair agency VS. Credit counseling agency

Good Moning guy & gals,

Im having a hard time understand the difference between these two agencies. could some shed light on this issue for me.

I was reading through a few threads about credit repair and I noticed that alot of you guys said to stay away from these places becasue they hurt your FICO score.

However, I also hear alot of members give refrences to credit companies that can help you fix your credit. So should I consider dealing with these kind of companies or should I do this kind of stuff on my own?

I really appreciate the help guys!
