Private Investor Option

Just looking for opinions at the moment. My wife and I just found out we will be inheriting a decent amount of money soon. We have been wanting to get into real estate for a while. I'd like to start out as a private money lender. Does anyone have any good experience with this? Is it usually a quick turnaround? How long is your investment tied up?

@Jason Clifford

@Jeff Rabinowitz is definitely your man. He has a great BP blog entitled Confessions of a Private Lender. Super easy to reach out to, should you need anything.

Also, for options, there are loads of crowdsourcing platforms that are pretty good these days. Depends on your model, but that may be a good way to get started with smaller sums of money.
