Building credit through credit cards

Hello to all, I have a question about getting my first credit card. Im 19 years old and I want to get my first credit card to start building my credit. My question is, is it possible to get a credit card without a job, for example a credit card for college students(im in college which is why I don't have a job right now) or a store credit card like Target? Or do you recommend me to just co-sign to one of my moms credit cards?(she only has store credit cards) All info will be much appreciated!
