Building credit score as an expat

Hello BP community. I'll be arriving to the US next January to work in Los Angeles area. I have some savings that I would like to use to invest in real estate, however I am concerned about building credit score. How much time can take me to build a good enough score (around 670)? Is there any advise to build my credit score faster?
