Berkshire Hathaway 2022 Meeting - THE BOYS ARE BACK

Hi All, 

Not directly related to real estate, but I feel we can all learn from the wisdom of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. They've had my admiration since I was young and have been wonderful role models for me since my high school years.

After many years of fantasizing, I attended my first Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting over the weekend and had a ball. It was perhaps the best way for me to end my 20's and enter my 30's. The community is incredible and I cannot wait to keep returning for the rest of my life!

Warren and Charlie were smart, funny and insightful as ever. Plus I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Becky Quick, Whitney Tilson and Mohnish Pabrai - not to mention spotting Mario Gabelli, Bill Ackman and others. 

On the plane ride over, I had the pleasure of sitting next to author William Green and we had a wonderful conversation. He has an incredible mind and keen insights. 

Plus I had a blast eating my DQ Buster Bar and loading up my bag with souvenirs from Oriental Trading for friends and family! 

Before signing off, I'd like to parrot one note from the Oracle of Omaha which I think is true today more than ever before:

"Whatever abilities you have can't be taken away from you. They can't actually be inflated away from you. ... So the best investment by far is anything that develops yourself, and it's not taxed at all"

This was a response to a question posed on inflation, however, I think it is just as relevant in a low inflation or deflationary environment - it's just good, old life advice!
