Looking for a NON-MLS broker in Southern California
Hello everyone!
I am looking for a NON-MLS broker in Southern California to place my agent license with. Does anyone have any idea who I can use? The MLS fees are pretty cheap that way.
Some brokers will let you hang their license and not join the local board. i can't imagine a scenario in which it would be a good idea to not be a member of the Mls.
Perfect! Thanks Brett!
You are correct though. I guess I should re-phrase that I am looking for a broker who has MLS associations that do not require NAR membership.

That's better. It would be an oxymoron to be a broker and NOT use MLS
LOL. That's true!
I know it's only around $75 a month for the NAR membership. If I had some deals going I could afford it. But until then, guess it would make sense to go to the dark side. I mean, cheap side. :)
I think you are looking for a Non-Realtor Broker. Also known as MLS only broker. We are MLS only with CRMLS for mls access.
Just curious, what forms do you use? I looked into this a while back and determined it cost basically the same to be a MLS only broker and buy forms directly from CAR, as it does to join local board and CAR. With local board and CAR membership, in addition to MLS access and CAR forms, you get CAR benefits such as a free lawyer and full access to their website. They probably structure pricing this way to encourage CAR membership.
We use CAR forms. Definately if you are doing a lot of business there are advantages to being a member of the Realtor board. Just most agents don't know that its not mandatory. That's what I am trying to point out. I was a Realtor member starting out.
