Major Housing Legislation Update in Massachusetts!

On August 6, 2024, the Massachusetts Affordable Homes Act (L. 2024, H4977) was officially signed into law, introducing key tax incentives and expanding existing credits to boost affordable housing efforts nationwide. Here are the highlights:

Key provisions include:

▫ New qualified conversion project credit and homeownership tax credit to be used against personal income tax and corporate excise tax.

▫ Historic rehabilitation credit extended.

▫ Community investment credit cap increased.
