Choosing local or virtual market for rentals

Chris Twing
Posted

I'm a new investor, still working on deal 1. I've chosen a local market, Temple, TX to begin searching for deals but I'm also considering an out of state market, central Ohio. Probably buy and hold rentals, but also considering mid term.

Just wanted to say hello.

Welcome to BiggerPockets Chris! I noticed you are also interested in the Central Ohio market. Columbus is a great market to pick up rental properties because of the demand from renters. JPMorgan Chase, Nationwide, Honda, L Brands, Huntington, and Amazon are just a few of the many companies that have thousands of jobs in the city. New Albany is home to several major data centers including ones operated by Amazon, Google and Facebook, whose parent company, Meta, announced plans in the spring to expand its New Albany campus. Best of luck on your journey and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions
