Investing in Minneapolis area- out of state

Hello! I am seeking to buy my first investment property out of state. Currently I live in California and am a home owner, and now it is almost impossible to buy an investment property (single family home) without breaking the bank around me so I am looking to go out of state. I am wondering how lucrative it is to buy in Minneapolis area. The areas I was targeting is Plymouth, Woodbury, Edina, Eden Praire. The company I work for is located in MN area and therefore I can travel there for work, but I am starting from scratch. I will appreciate any guidance on the market in MN and contacts (Core 4).
