Umbrella insurance company recommendation

Tina Paduck
Posted

We recently had to change from Amica to Geico because we purchased too many properties to qualify for Amica. We had an umbrella policy with Amica for $1mil that cost us ~$250 a year. Geico recommends we increase the liability to $3mil, which we agree, but quoted us ~$1,800. Since we moved all our policies to Geico, Amica will not give us a standalone umbrella insurance.

Can you recommend a company that will give us a more reason rate for the umbrella? We have properties in Illinois and Massachusetts, if that matters.

TIA!
