Southern Utah Short Term Rental Expert Agent

Taylor Roney
Posted

Hello,

I am looking to purchase my first home in southern utah to utilize as a short term vacation rental. Since this is my first home purchase I am hoping to find an agent that will be able to help me through the purchasing processes as well as provide insight into the Southern Utah market and help me make a sound investment.

Do you have any recommendations?

Thank you,

Looking for

I would feel like a criminal if I didn't chime in on this and second @Cole Schlack. If you are going to lose your shirt on anything in Utah right now it is probably a STR in Southern Utah. The last 8 years have been all about everyone buying a STR in St.George. I have friends with dozens.

You need to ask yourself why STRs and if you are following the trend or actually feel like it is the best option for your time and money.

I don't want to sound like I am talking you out of it and I am not a crash bro but I am very concerned with markets that have such a high concentration of short-term rentals.

A lot of people say they want one because then they can use it when they visit down South but those numbers rarely work out if you are not banking on appreciation which is a bad way to invest.
