Hi tax professionals, can anyone please advise if we can invest the capital gains from stocks in RE to defer paying taxes something like a 1031 exchange? Is this possible? and how to go about it. Thanks.

- 1031 applies when you sell RE.

- Just reinvesting cash wouldn't help you defer taxes. The best thing you do right now is exploring opportunity zone funds.

- If you have losses in Crypto, harness the losses as there is no wash sale rule yet.
