Taxes on rental income.
Do you have to pay taxes on rental income if you use it to pay down on the property?

Yes. There are a number of expenses that are tax deductible (e.g. interest on mortgage payments, property taxes, insurance, necessary repairs, etc). However, principal paydown is not one of them.
