Real Estate CPA/Tax Advisor needed for Realtor/RE Investor/LLC

Posted

Hi folks, I'm in the market for a new CPA that specializes in all things Real Estate. They can be located anywhere in the USA. I've read through a bunch of posts and it seems like we have some in the group. I'll also take recommendations for CPAs outside of this group. I prefer someone who handles mainly RE related clients as their primary client.

I'm a full time Realtor and a Real Estate Investor. I qualify as a real estate professional. I currently have a real estate specific CPA that I've been unhappy with for many years. All of my Real Estate activities work underneath my LLC. I need an aggressive, competent tax advisor & CPA to do our tax returns for both the LLC & personal. Must understand accelerated depreciation, and know the RE tax codes inside and out. Must be proactive in making sure I'm preparing for and taking advantage of any changes in the tax laws throughout the year.

My Current accountant seems good at what he does on the real estate side with what we hand him on a silver platter, but he completely sucks at advising us at how to further reduce our taxes on both on the real estate and personal side. MY wife has to read and ask him questions constantly for the most basic of write-offs. I'm done. Moving on.

I'm extremely busy and I don't have time to keep switching CPAs. I'm looking for a new one, and I'm hoping to not switch again for another 10 years.
