Need help with irs form 4562 and schedule E
I bought a duplex with a partner in Dec 2011. I had some help from a CPA doing my 2011 taxes and was hoping I could use it as a template for my 2012 taxes but I'm confused on the use of the 4562 form for schedule E. For 2011 my 4562 form has part III, section b, row 19h filed in with my half of the price ($43724) in column c, and the depreciation for Dec ($33) in column g.
Now my question: on the 2012 form it says that section b is for assets placed into service during the 2012 year so I'm guessing that doesn't apply now since I got the place in 2011.
Where does the depreciation for 2012 (I get $794.98) go? Part III line 17 maybe? And then this number I assume goes on line 18 of schedule E.
Does the depreciated value of the duplex go somewhere?
