I am 66. Can I transfer some of my self-directed IRA to pay down my mortgage on rental property? Consequences, if any?

You must be from the moon, nowhere did I ever even come close to saying that. The OG poster already had a mortgage on his income property. Now you assume that mortgae is leveraged to the moon? As for managing mortgage payments, that is easy, it is called auto draft! As for managing the taxes and accounting, that is easy too, they are called accountants!
