Finding a House Hacking Friendly Tax Professional

Hi guys & gals. House hacking represents a unique tax scenario. I'm not sure a cookie-cutter tax professional from the big box stores will do.

Any tips on finding a tax preparer who is house hack knowledgeable? Specifically what questions should one ask to ascertain if they are in good hands or not?

Looking for tips before seeking one out. I'll report back once I've got my own done as to my process.

Thanks in advance.

Really a good question. As long as a CPA knows how to handle rental properties they should be able to handle house hacking. You'll just need to explain your living situation. They will want make sure the utilities/depreciation/etc are separated between your living area and the tenant area.
